Mouse Muse: The Mouse in Art
November 18th, 2014
In celebration of the publication of Mouse Muse: The Mouse in Art, in which the author Lorna Owen shows the myriad ways that the mouse has inspired artists across centuries and cultures, a short film Mouse Palace (length 10:20) from Austrian artists, Harald Hund and Paul Horn, will be displayed on a continuous loop as a large-scale projected installation during the book launch event.
Mouse Palace speaks about the struggle of existence through the lens of four mice who inhabit an apartment that contains a surprise, which leads to the apartment’s inevitable destruction. Among the more than seventy, full page, color reproductions of artworks in the book, is a still from Hund’s and Horn’s film. This is Mouse Palace’s US premier. rsvp@monacellipress.com
